- good machinability
- cannot be magnetised
- can be decoratively anodised very well
- good weldability and solderability
- suitable for use in the food sector in accordance with EN 602
Aluminium square bars are a semi-finished product and are used in a wide variety of areas due to their many good properties. They are used, for example, as pre-material for various turned and milled parts or as stable replacement feet for various pieces of furniture.
We have high-quality square bars in stock in lengths of up to 6000 mm. If you require a dimension that is not offered in our online configurator, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Note: The following information only applies if you have selected the powder coating option in the configurator when placing your order.
Powder coating - additional information and quality features
Surface features and properties:
- Surface: Powder-coated for an even and robust protective layer.
- Coating thickness: 60 - 80 µm for optimum protection and durability.
- Gloss level (reflectometer value):
- Glossy: 80 - 95
- Matt: 20 - 30
Powder-coated aluminium square bars offer a high-quality, uniform surface that provides both protection and aesthetics. This coating is particularly suitable for applications that require high corrosion resistance, such as in the construction industry, the automotive industry or for decorative purposes. Our square bars are available in various sizes and designs. If you have special requirements or dimensions, please contact us - we will be happy to advise you.
Note: Colour and surface differences may vary slightly due to production batches or screen displays.
Layer formation during powder coating
During powder coating, high voltage creates an electric field between the workpiece and the electrode. The paint particles are negatively charged and adhere evenly to the surface. The coating thickness can be slightly thicker on edges (picture frame effect), which improves corrosion protection. In some cases, post-processing may be necessary if tighter fits are required.
Powder coating - quality requirements
The quality of the coating is checked by viewing the surface from a distance of 3 metres (interior) or 5 metres (exterior). There must be no bubbles, scratches or other visible damage that would impair the protective effect. However, deviations resulting from the raw material during the manufacturing process do not affect the quality of the coating and are therefore excluded from the quality inspection.
Please note that the ordered product may differ from the product images in terms of surface finish due to different production batches. The same applies to colours, which are displayed differently depending on the monitor and graphics card.
Product safety information according to the product safety regulation for aluminium rods
(Article number: LM-16058)
1. general safety information
- Attention: Aluminium rods are lighter than stainless steel, but may have sharp edges and burrs at the ends. Wear suitable protective gloves, safety goggles and safety shoes when handling and transporting to avoid cuts, crushing and eye injuries.
Danger: Sharp edges or burrs can cause serious injuries! - Take care with sharp edges: Before processing or installation, the material should be smoothed with a file or deburring tool if necessary to prevent injuries.
Caution: Process the edges before use to avoid cutting injuries. - Tip: Especially with heavy or long poles, call in a second person for support to avoid accidents. Do not drag poles across the floor to prevent surface damage. Use suitable safety straps during transport to avoid scratches.
2. mechanical safety
- Processing: Always wear safety goggles, a respirator, protective gloves and safety shoes when sawing, drilling or grinding the material.
Danger: Dust and splinters can cause eye and respiratory injuries . - Assembly: Ensure that the bars are mounted firmly and stably to prevent accidents.
Caution: Improper assembly can lead to instability and risk of injury.
3. storage and handling
- Make sure that the bars are not dropped or bumped hard, as this can lead to dents or damage.
- In the case of coated rods, impact could cause coatings to flake off, which would impair corrosion resistance and appearance.
Caution: Damage to the coating reduces the service life of the product. - Storage: Store the bars horizontally and on a stable surface to prevent them from rolling away or falling. Store in dry, well-ventilated areas to prevent oxidation (tarnishing) of the material and staining.
Caution: Improper storage increases the risk of injury and damage. - Avoid heavy lifting: Aluminium rods are lighter than stainless steel, but suitable lifting and transport aids should be used for heavy or long rods. Use a second person if necessary.
Caution: Improper lifting can lead to back injuries.
4. keep children and pets away
- Keepaluminium poles and their packaging materials out of the reach of children and pets.
- There is a risk that children and pets may use the products as toys or be at risk of injury. Sharp edges and the weight of the material can lead toserious cuts and crushing injuries!
5. maintenance and care
- Only use mild cleaning agents and a soft cloth for cleaning. Never use scouring pads, steel wire brushes or abrasive cleaning utensils.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scratching cleaning utensils. These can scratch the surface and damage the protective oxide layer.
- In the event of heavy soiling, only clean with water and mild detergents.
- Do not use chemicals, as these can discolour or damage the surface. This can promote corrosion.
- High-pressure cleaners - The use of high-pressure cleaners can damage the surface, especially on coated or painted bars, and promote corrosion .
- Cleaning at high temperatures - Avoid cleaning with hot water or steam as this can tarnish the aluminium and dissolve the coating.
- Saline or abrasive cleaning agents - Cleaning agents containing salts or abrasives can roughen the surface and impair corrosion resistance .
- Tip: Dry the aluminium with a soft cloth to prevent water stains or oxidation (tarnishing). This will keep the protective oxide layer intact and the surface of the aluminium will remain beautiful for a long time.
6. use in the intended area
- This product is designed for railings, handrails, machine components, struts, tie rods or curtain poles . Do not use the rods as a load-bearing element if no static calculations are available.
Caution: If used as a load-bearing element without static calculations, there is a risk of collapse.
7 Temperature resistance
- Aluminium is thermally conductive and can heat up considerably at high temperatures. Avoid direct contact with hot surfaces or naked flames to prevent burns .
Danger: Direct contact with hot surfaces can cause burns.
