Powder-coated aluminium square tubes - ideal protection and aesthetics
Powder-coated aluminium square tubes offer a first-class, durable protective coating and a uniform, attractive surface. They are ideal for applications that require high corrosion resistance and a high-quality aesthetic appearance, for example in the construction industry, the automotive industry or for decorative purposes. Thanks to the powder coating, the aluminium square tubes are highly resistant and have an attractive surface quality. Our range includes powder-coated, anodised and bright aluminium square tubes in various sizes and dimensions. We will be happy to advise you on special powder coating requirements or customised dimensions.
Note: The surface quality and colour of our powder-coated aluminium square tubes may vary slightly depending on the production batch. Colour deviations are also possible due to monitor and graphic settings.
Layer formation during powder coating
During powder coating, a high-voltage cascade in the gun body generates a high voltage at the nozzle tip (electrode). An electric field is created between the earthed workpiece and the electrode, which charges the paint particles negatively. These paint particles are distributed finely in a uniform spray cloud by mutual repulsion and are deposited evenly on the aluminium square tubes. Due to the electrical charge, excess powder remains in the field and ensures a comprehensive and even coating. The coating thickness is often thicker at the edges - this so-called picture frame effect is advantageous for corrosion protection, but may require additional post-processing for tight fits.
Powder coating - quality requirements
When testing the quality of powder-coated aluminium square tubes, the coated surface must not show any blisters, craters, pinholes or scratches when viewed with normal eyesight from a distance of 3 metres (for indoor applications) or 5 metres (for outdoor applications). The coating should be free from damage that penetrates the metal. Deviations in the primary material caused by the pressing process do not affect the quality of the powder-coated surface and therefore do not fall within the scope of assessment.
Please note that the ordered product may differ from the product images in terms of the surface finish due to different production batches. The same applies to colours, which are displayed differently depending on the monitor and graphics card.
Product safety information in accordance with the Product Safety Regulation for aluminium pipes
(Article number: LM-16061 + LM-16072)
1. general safety information
- Caution: Aluminium pipes are lighter than stainless steel, but may have sharp edges and burrs at the ends. Wear suitable protective gloves, safety goggles and safety shoes when handling and transporting to avoid cuts, crushing and eye injuries.
Danger: Sharp edges or burrs can cause serious injuries! - Take care with sharp edges: Before processing or installation, the material should be smoothed with a file or deburring tool if necessary to prevent injuries.
Caution: Process the edges before use to avoid cutting injuries. - Tip: Especially with heavy or long pipes, get a second person to assist to avoid accidents. Do not drag pipes across the floor to prevent surface damage. Use suitable safety straps during transport to avoid scratches.
2. mechanical safety
- Processing: Always wear safety goggles, a respirator, protective gloves and safety shoes when sawing, drilling or grinding the material.
Danger: Dust and splinters can cause eye and respiratory injuries . - Assembly: Ensure that the pipes are mounted firmly and stably to prevent accidents.
Caution: Improper assembly can lead to instability and risk of injury.
3. storage and handling
- Ensure that the pipes are not dropped or bumped hard, as this can lead to dents or damage.
- In the case of coated pipes, impact could cause coatings to flake off, which could impair corrosion resistance and appearance.
Caution: Damage to the coating reduces the service life of the product. - Storage: Store the pipes horizontally and on a stable surface to prevent them from rolling away or falling. Store in dry, well-ventilated areas to prevent oxidation (tarnishing) of the material and staining.
Caution: Improper storage increases the risk of injury and damage. - Avoid heavy lifting: Aluminium pipes are lighter than stainless steel, but suitable lifting and transport aids should be used for heavy or long pipes. Use a second person if necessary.
Caution: Improper lifting can lead to back injuries.
4. keep children and pets away
- Keep aluminium pipes and their packaging materials out of the reach of children and pets to prevent injuries and the risk of suffocation.
Danger: Sharp edges or burrs and the weight of the material can cause serious cuts and crushing injuries! Packaging materials also pose a choking hazard.
5. maintenance and care
- Only use mild cleaning agents and a soft clothfor cleaning. Never use scouring pads, steel wire brushes or abrasive cleaning utensils.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scratching cleaning utensils. These can scratch the surface and damage the protective oxide layer. - In the event of heavy soiling , only clean with water and mild detergents.
Do not use chemicals, as these can discolour or damage the surface. This can promote corrosion. - High-pressure cleaners - The use of high-pressure cleaners can damage the surface, especially on coated or painted pipes, and promote corrosion.
- Cleaning at high temperatures - Avoid cleaning with hot water or steam, as this can tarnish the aluminium and dissolve the coating.
- Saline or abrasive cleaning agents - Cleaning agents containing salts or abrasives can roughen the surface and impair corrosion resistance.
- Tip: Dry the aluminium with a soft cloth to prevent water stains or oxidation (tarnishing). This will keep the protective oxide layer intact and the surface of the aluminium will remain beautiful for a long time.
6. use in the intended area
- This product is designed for railings, handrails, posts, patio roofs, curtain rails, construction profiles or furniture frames. Do not use the tubes as a load-bearing element if no structural calculations are available.
Caution: If used as a load-bearing element without static calculations, there is a risk of collapse . - Do not use the pipes as a conduit for liquids unless the material is explicitly designed for this purpose.
7 Temperature resistance
- Aluminium is thermally conductive and can heat up considerably at high temperatures. Avoid direct contact with hot surfaces or openflames to prevent burns.
Danger: Direct contact with hot surfaces can cause burns.
