Aluminium T-profiles are so-called semi-finished products. They are suitable for practical and decorative use and their surface can be easily machined. They are therefore frequently used as functional and visual elements in façade and interior design as well as in garden design. Here, the profiles serve as a practical seal or cover. They can also be used as a connection for floor coverings such as parquet, laminate, ceramic tiles and natural stone slabs.
We can supply you with high-quality aluminium T-profiles - in a wide range of dimensions and surface finishes. You can select all the properties for your profiles in our online configurator and our experts will process your order professionally and quickly! If you have any questions about our range, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Note: This information only applies if you have selected the powder coating option in the configurator when placing your order.
Powder coating - additional information and quality features
Surface features and properties:
- Surface: powder-coated for an even, robust protective layer
- Coating thickness: 60 - 80 µm for optimum protection and durability
- Reflectometer value (gloss level):
- Glossy: 80 - 95
- Matt: 20 - 30
Please note: There are approx. 5 mm holes at the ends of our powder-coated aluminium T-profiles, which are used for fixing during the coating process and are untreated and not deburred. To minimise untreated ends, in many cases we manufacture without holes or only with holes on one side. For precision applications, we recommend an oversize of around 50 - 80 mm.
Powder-coated aluminium T-profiles - ideal protection and aesthetics
Powder-coated aluminium T-profiles offer a first-class protective layer and a smooth, even surface. These profiles are ideal for applications that require both high corrosion resistance and an aesthetic appearance, such as in the construction, interior design and furniture industries. The powder coating gives the T-profiles durability and resistance. In our range you will find a large selection of powder-coated, anodised and bare aluminium T-profiles in numerous sizes and dimensions. If you have special powder coating requirements or customised dimensions, we will be happy to advise you on the right products for your projects.
Note: The surface quality and colour of our powder-coated aluminium T-profiles may vary slightly depending on the production batch. Colour deviations are also possible due to monitor and graphic settings.
Layer formation during powder coating
Powder coating is carried out by a high-voltage cascade that generates a high voltage in the gun body at the nozzle tip (electrode). An electric field is created between the earthed workpiece and the electrode, which charges the paint particles negatively. These particles are distributed in a fine spray cloud by mutual repulsion and are deposited evenly on all sides of the aluminium T-profiles. The electrical charge causes excess powder to adhere to hard-to-reach areas and ensures a complete coating. An increased coating thickness forms on edges - the so-called picture frame effect - which improves corrosion protection, but may require reworking in the case of tight fits.
Powder coating - quality requirements
To assess the quality of powder-coated aluminium T-profiles, the coated surface must not show any blisters, craters, pinholes or scratches when viewed with normal or corrected vision and at a distance of 3 metres (for indoor applications) or 5 metres (for outdoor applications). The coating should be free from damage that exposes the metal. Deviations in the primary material caused by the pressing process do not affect the quality of the powder-coated surface and are therefore not subject to quality testing.
Please note that the ordered product may differ from the product images in terms of the surface finish due to different production batches. The same applies to colours, which are displayed differently depending on the monitor and graphics card.
Product safety information in accordance with the Product Safety Ordinance for aluminium profiles
(Article number: LM-16081)
1. general safety instructions
- Attention: Aluminium profiles have sharp edges and burrs. Wear suitable protective gloves, safety goggles and safety shoes when handling to avoid cutting and crushing injuries.
Danger: Sharp edges can cause serious injuries! - Caution: Before processing, smooth the material with a file or deburring tool to prevent injuries.
- Tip: Especially with heavy or long profiles , get a second person to assist you to avoid accidents. Do not drag profiles across the floor to prevent surface damage. Use suitable safety straps during transport to prevent scratches.
2. mechanical safety
- Machining: Always wear protective equipment such as safety goggles, a respirator and gloves when sawing, drilling or sanding.
- Assembly: Ensure that the profiles are mounted stably to avoid accidents.
3. storage and handling
- Ensure that the profiles are not dropped or bumped hard, as this can lead to dents or damage.
- In the case of coated profiles , the coating could flake off due to impacts, which would impair the corrosion resistance and appearance.
Caution: Damage to the coating reduces the service life of the product. - Storage: Store the profiles horizontally and on a stable surface to prevent them from falling. Store in dry, well-ventilated areas to prevent oxidation (tarnishing) of the material and staining.
Caution: Improper storage increases the risk of injury and damage. - Avoid heavy lifting: Use suitable lifting and transport aids for heavy or long profiles . If necessary, call on a second person.
Caution: Improper lifting can lead to back injuries.
4. keep children and pets away
- Keep aluminium profiles and their packaging materials out of the reach of children and pets to prevent injuries and the risk of suffocation.
Danger: There is a risk that children and pets will use the products as toys. Sharp edges or burrs as well as the weight of the material can lead to serious cuts and crushing injuries! Packaging materials also pose a choking hazard.
5 Maintenance and care
- Only use mild cleaning agents and a soft clothfor cleaning. Never use scouring pads, steel wire brushes or abrasive cleaning utensils.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scratching cleaning utensils. These can scratch the surface and damage the protective oxide layer. - In the event of heavy soiling , only clean with water and mild detergents.
Do not use chemicals, as these can discolour or damage the surface. This can promote corrosion. - High-pressure cleaners - The use of high-pressure cleaners can damage the surface, especially on coated or painted pipes, and promote corrosion.
- Cleaning at high temperatures - Avoid cleaning with hot water or steam, as this can tarnish the aluminium and dissolve the coating.
- Saline or abrasive cleaning agents - Cleaning agents containing salts or abrasives can roughen the surface and impair corrosion resistance.
- Tip: Dry the aluminium with a soft cloth to prevent water stains or oxidation (tarnishing). This will keep the protective oxide layer intact and the surface of the aluminium will remain beautiful for a long time.
6. use in the intended area
- The profiles are suitable for railings, handrails, structural profiles, furniture frames and patio roofs. Do not use the profiles as a load-bearing element if no structural calculations are available.
Caution: If used as a load-bearing element without static calculations, there is a risk of collapse .
7 Temperature resistance
- Aluminium is thermally conductive and can heat up considerably at high temperatures. Avoid direct contact with hot surfaces or openflames to prevent burns.
Danger: Direct contact with hot surfaces can cause burns.
